This here, this Prada Galleria bag, they call it. Heard it’s a remake, whatever that is. They say it’s all fancy, from some place called a “flagship store”. Sounds like a boat to me. Anyway, they say it’s made of this Saffiano leather.
Now, I seen a lot of leather in my time. You know, cows, goats, you name it. This Saffiano, they say it’s special. Supposed to be tough, like an old boot. Don’t scratch easy, they say. Good for folks who are rough on their things, I reckon. Water don’t hurt it neither. That’s a plus, especially when it rains cats and dogs.
They say this Prada fella, Mario Prada, made this Saffiano leather way back when. 1913, I heard. That’s a long time ago! They used to put it on trunks, like the ones you take on a long trip. Must be strong stuff to hold up like that.
This Galleria bag, they started making it in 2007. Not as old as that Saffiano stuff, but still, it’s been around. Folks seem to like it. They say it’s “chic”. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds expensive. It is very expensive, I will tell you that much! More than my old cow Bessie, rest her soul!
It’s got this shape, kind of like a box. They say it’s “classic”. And it’s got this little triangle thing on it, some kind of Prada logo. I guess that’s how you know it’s the real deal. Lots of folks like to show off those logos, you know.
They got all sorts of colors now, not just plain old black or brown. They got these new ones, all colorful and with patterns. Like a patchwork quilt, almost. I don’t know, seems a bit much for me. I like things plain and simple.

I seen some folks carrying these Prada Galleria bags. They walk around like they’re something special. Maybe they are. I wouldn’t know. I just know it’s a lot of money for a bag. But if you got the money, and you want something that’s supposed to last forever, maybe it’s worth it.
They say you can get these bags at the “official Prada online store”. I don’t know about all that online stuff. I like to see things in person before I buy them. Touch them, you know? Make sure they’re worth the money. But that’s just me. This mini-bag is small. You can’t even put a chicken in there. Not even a small one.
This Saffiano leather, they use it on other things too, not just this Galleria bag. Lots of their purses, they say. Must be popular stuff. They say it don’t get that “patina” like regular leather. Patina is that shiny look old leather gets. Some folks like that look. Me, I don’t mind it. Shows it’s been used, loved.
But this Saffiano, it stays looking new. Forever young like those movie stars! I guess that’s good if you want your things to look new all the time. But I think a little wear and tear shows character. Like an old, comfy chair.
They say this bag is an “investment”. Like buying land. I don’t know. Seems like a lot to pay for something to carry your things in. But then again, I’m just a simple person. What do I know about fancy bags and investments? I just know what I like, and I like things that are useful and last a long time.
If you are looking for a fancy Prada Galleria bag or a mini-bag, you go to that Prada store, I guess. That’s where the moneybags go, I imagine. But not me. I don’t need any fancy Saffiano leather, just some good old-fashioned common sense. They say this Prada Galleria is special. They say it is an expression of something. I don’t know. It is just a bag to me. A very expensive bag.
