Okay, so I’ve been looking at those Prada Cleo bags for a while. You know, the ones from their official store? They look super cool, all sleek and stylish. But oh boy, the price tag on those things! I was like, “No way I’m paying that much.” Then it hit me, “Wait a minute, I can totally make something like this myself!”
First, I started looking closely at the bag’s design. They have one with a flap and one without, and both use a magnetic snap to close. I decided to go with the flap version because, why not? It looked a bit more challenging and fun.
I got some materials that I thought would work. I found some nice, glossy black material, that I thought would give it that classic look. I also got a magnetic snap and some other bits and pieces to make it functional. The Prada triangle logo was a must, so I spent some time figuring out how to recreate that.
Putting it all together was a bit of a puzzle. I cut the material into the right shapes, I followed the original design from the ’90s that I found out about. I sewed everything up, added the snap, and even managed to make a pretty decent version of the Prada logo. It was a lot of trial and error, with me ripping seams and starting over more times than I can count. The kids were running around, the TV was blaring, and I was hunched over my sewing machine, trying to get it just right.
After many hours of work, I finally finished it! It wasn’t perfect, of course, but it looked pretty darn close to the real thing. It’s got that same sleek look, and it works just like the fancy one. And you know what? It cost me way less than buying the real one from the Prada store. Plus, I had a blast making it. It may not be perfect, but it’s unique. That’s mine.
