Okay, so I’ve been eyeing the Prada Cleo bag for a while now, but that price tag? Ouch. It’s a gorgeous bag, no doubt, a real classic from the ’90s that they brought back in 2020, and it’s been all over Instagram and TikTok. But I just couldn’t justify spending that much on a handbag, no matter how sleek and stylish it is. So, I thought, “Why not try to find a good dupe?”
I started my hunt online, of course. Where else do you go these days? I spent hours scrolling through different online stores. It seemed like every fast-fashion place had their version of it. From Mango to HM, I saw tons of options. There were so many bags that looked just like it!
I finally decided to give it a shot. I ordered a few that caught my eye from different stores. I wanted to see them in person, feel the material, and check the quality, you know? Gotta make sure it at least feels decent.
The Great Bag Arrival
A week later, a bunch of packages arrived. It felt like Christmas! I ripped them open and started examining each bag. Some were pretty bad, I’m not gonna lie. The material felt cheap, the stitching was wonky, and they just didn’t have that same vibe as the real Cleo. But a couple of them were surprisingly good!
- One from Mango was particularly impressive. The cream-colored one. It had a similar shape and a nice, smooth feel. It definitely looked way more expensive than it actually was.
- Another one from ASOS was also pretty decent. Not quite as good as the Mango one, but still a solid option. The material was a little thinner, but the overall design was pretty spot-on.
I ended up choosing the one from Mango. I compared it to pictures of the real Prada Cleo, and honestly, it’s hard to tell the difference unless you’re really looking closely. And the best part? It was a fraction of the price! I started carrying it to some parties, and my friends all love it. They even ask me to help them get one!
So yeah, that’s my little adventure in the world of designer dupes. If you want that classic Prada Cleo look without breaking the bank, there are good alternatives available. You just gotta do a little digging to find the good ones. It took me a while and some effort to finally get a really good deal, but it was worth it. I’m really happy with my new bag, and my wallet is happy too!
