Buying Guide: Remake Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100R-010, things you need to know

Alright, guys, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been working on. So, I got this idea in my head that I wanted to try and remake a really fancy watch. Not just any watch, mind you, but a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100R-010. Yeah, that’s the one, a real looker.

First off, I started digging around for information. Found out this watch is a tribute to some famous retailer in Rio de Janeiro. It’s got this classic, kind of art deco vibe, you know, rectangular and all that. It looked complicated, but I was ready for a challenge.

I started by sketching out the design. I grabbed some pictures online, studied them like crazy, and tried to get every little detail down on paper. Then came the fun part – picking out the materials. I wanted to keep it as real as possible, so I went for some rose gold-colored metal for the case. It wasn’t real gold, obviously, but it gave it that fancy look.

• For the dial, I used some white mother-of-pearl-looking stuff. I wanted it to have that shiny, expensive feel.
• Then, the trickiest part – the diamonds. Now, I’m not made of money, so real diamonds were out of the question. I found these little sparkly crystals that looked pretty convincing.

I spent days, maybe even weeks, cutting, shaping, and gluing everything together. My fingers were sore, my eyes were tired, but I kept at it. I had to make a few adjustments here and there, messed up a couple of times, but hey, that’s part of the process, right?

Finally, It’s Done!

Finally, after all that hard work, it was done. And you know what? It didn’t look half bad! Sure, it wasn’t a real Patek Philippe, and it probably wouldn’t fool an expert, but I was proud of it. I even wore it out a couple of times, and I got a few compliments. People thought it was a real high-end watch! That was a big moment for me.

So, that’s my story of trying to remake a super fancy watch. It was a fun experiment, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe I’ll try another one someday, who knows? But for now, I’m happy with my little homemade Gondolo.
