Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another wild project. This time, I dove headfirst into recreating the Patek Philippe Gondolo 4962/200R-001. Yeah, you heard that right, the fancy one. Let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I started by gathering all the info I could find on this beauty. Scoured the internet, read every article, and watched every video I could get my hands on. This watch is a piece of art, seriously. It’s got this Art Deco vibe with a rose gold case that just screams luxury. The original is a jewelry watch, something about timeless elegance and all that jazz.
Dimensions, 28.6 x 40.85 mm, and it’s just 7.36 mm thick. I mean, who wouldn’t want that on their wrist? So, I got to work. The first thing I did was try to replicate that curved 18k rose gold case. Let me tell you, getting that curve just right was a pain in the neck. But after a few (okay, maybe more than a few) attempts, I nailed it. It felt like a huge win.
- Sketched out the design a million times.
- Tried different materials before settling on something that gave that rose gold feel.
- Spent hours shaping and reshaping to get the dimensions right.
Then there’s the bezel. The original has this beautiful bezel, and I wanted to capture that same vibe. I experimented with a few different things, but eventually, I found a way to make it look just as stunning.
Next up was the water resistance. Now, I’m not planning on diving with this thing, but the original is water-resistant to 30 meters. So, I made sure mine could handle a bit of a splash, just for the authenticity, you know?
Putting it all together was like assembling a complex puzzle. Each piece had to fit perfectly. It was a lot of trial and error, but seeing the final product come together was so satisfying. This remake project really tested my patience and skills, but I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out.
I wore it out the other day, and let me tell you, the compliments were rolling in. It might not be the real deal, but it’s got that same vibe, that same elegance. And honestly, knowing I made it with my own two hands makes it even more special.
So, there you have it. My journey of remaking the Patek Philippe Gondolo 4962/200R-001. It was tough, it was challenging, but it was also incredibly rewarding. Hope you guys enjoyed this little story. Catch you in the next one!
