Eight digits or seven, somethin’ like that. Also got the date you bought it, the name of the store, all that fancy stuff. These copy ones? Nah, you ain’t gettin’ no fancy card with those. That’s one way to tell, I reckon.
Another thing, them real OMEGAs, they got this thing, a tachymeter. That’s a big word, ain’t it? It’s on the outside, on that… bezel, they call it. It’s supposed to be sharp, they say, real clear. And it’s gotta match up with the marks on the watch face, just right. These copy ones, sometimes they mess that up. It ain’t lined up, or it’s blurry, or somethin’. That’s another clue.
And this star thing, on the Constellation, they call it. That’s another Omega brand, very costly too. On the real deal, it’s raised up, like you can feel it. On the fakes, it’s just flat, stuck on there. Not the same, not the same at all. And that date thing, you know, where it tells you the day? On the real one, it ain’t a perfect square. Got some edges to it, or somethin’. I also heard that the real one has good quality on the case and bracelet.

- The star is flat, not raised.
- Date window is just a plain rectangle.
But you know what? Some folks, they don’t care. They just want the look. And these copy watches, they give you that look. Check them dials, check that tachymeter, feel the weight of it. If you want that classic style, and you don’t care if it’s the real deal, then maybe, just maybe, one of these copies is for you. But me? I’ll stick to my old Timex. It tells the time just fine, and that’s all I need.
